Starlink has not yet officially launched in Bangladesh. However, trial operations began on April 9, 2025. Earlier on March 29, 2025, the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) approved investment registration approval, allowing them to launch commercial services within 90 working days.The application and approval process for NGSO licenses, which is under the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), is also underway within this timeframe.

According to government sources and The Daily Star, Starlink could officially launch internet services in Bangladesh within the next three months. Currently, various presentations and demos are being shown as trials, especially at events like the Bangladesh Investment Summit.

Currently, the Bangladesh government has not set a specific price for Starlink. However, according to information from Bhutan, the monthly fee for a residential light plan there is 4,200 taka, which is considered high in the Bangladeshi context.

Government Licensing: The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has started the licensing process for Starlink. The license period is 5 years and the licensee will have to pay 5.5% of the annual gross revenue and an additional 1% to the “Development and Management of the Space Industry” fund.
